July 23rd 2011 the Baltimore City Fire Department received a gift from the Fire Department of New York

"FDNY"

A gift, signed by 343 members of the FDNY.

The Fire Riders of the FDNY along with the 911 Fire Family Transport Foundation left the city of New York on July 23 at 7 am heading for Baltimore.
 

The BCFD Riders Group Left Baltimore at 7 am heading to meet the FDNY fire riders half way at Mike Famous Harley Davidson in New Castle Delaware.

 

 
Every overpass on 95 from the Delaware State line to Eastern ave. was covered with fire equipment, for the exception of two.

 

 

   
 
 

STEEL TRANSPORT to BALTIMORE

ARRIVED in BALTIMORE



Arrived in Baltimore around 2:00. The steel went on display at the Fire House Expo 2011, at the Baltimore Convention Center. 


On Sunday July 24, the BCFD Riders Group along with the FDNY Fire Riders and the Fire Family Foundation set out to escort the steel to its final resting place. We all met at the Steadman Fire Station at 8:00 am, we then escorted the steel to the Baltimore City Fire Academy. Led by Chiefs Goldman and Heinbuch, with Baltimore City Fire Apparatus in position at every major intersection.

President Odle, presents FF. Mike Hineline with a certificate of appreciation for all his work helping this event become a great success.


Firefighter Hineline is also awarded a very special gift from the Group.

 A steel rivet from the World Trade Center, 1 of only 6 which were given out to those who went above and beyond to make this event a success.

We all left Mike's Famous Harley Davidson at noon, en-route to Baltimore. Escorted by the Delaware State Police and the Maryland State Police.
